(June, 1983) Since turtles sometimes live as long as Gnomes, neither one is ever in a hurry to get anywhere. Pokey is the head of the little family on tiny turtles. They are on a Sunday outing to Eggrock. He carries his coin under his arm, it is the fare for the taxi ride. It is a “Danish” one, symbolic of what he hopes is on the brunch menu. Pokey and his family are the turtle helpers in the clan’ they turn them over when the turtles have fallen on their backs.
