(September, 1981) “You won’t believe this, but Nellie reminds me of my grandmother!” That is the usual reaction to this figure which was created without the aid of a photograph. It wwas a pose often seen in my youth. I was always to the side with my own little pan full of beans to be snapped. The pink slippers are for comfort as Nellie sits on the front porch.
