Description
This pitcher jug, cup and saucer was made by Vernon Kilns Pottery, of California. The pattern name is Organdie.
The pitcher was formed in the mold to have a rounded shape with a raised spout. The jug was glazed in a light beige, or creamy white, glaze. Bands of yellow were hand painted on. Bands of dark brown were hand painted on then lightly brushed to give the appearance of texture over the creamy white and yellow. The dark brown was also hand painted on the handle and around the rim.
On the underside of the base is the backstamp of the Vernon Kilns Pottery of Vernonware.
This is a huge pitcher. It measures 6 1/4″ W at the widest point, 9 1/2″ H from handle to spout and stands 11 1/4″ H.
This pitcher is in great vintage condition. There are no chips or cracks. There is no loss to the glazes, colors or pattern used.
