Olympia Story

Item #5119

(September, 1990) Olympia is tying the bow of her sneaker. Is she waiting for the other shoe to drop? She shares a pair of shoes with her husband Pheidippides, and they love to jog together. They also share a Greek coin and a prize coin, depicting a relay race, won by Sterling Martin, former track and cross-country coach at Davidson College. Olympia is named for Mount Olympus, the legendary home of Zeus and Hera, king and queen of Greek mythology, and for the plain of Olympia, site of the first Olympic games. Olympia knows that when you run the race of life, you need comfortable shoes and the perfect sole-mate.
