Kernel Story

Item #75

(September, 1983) Kernel is in charge of a group of Woodspirits that patrols the corn fields. They look for corn that has fallen and is unwanted by the farmer. They take it home to feed the field mice and the large birds. They also save some for their own needs, especially the popcorn! The coin on the base is an ancient Indian head penny. It is there to honor the Indians who introduced corn (maize) to the settlers from Europe.
